The 2018-19 season at a glance
Richarlison was the star of the show. Everton’s attacking lines revolved around him. He formed the heart and soul of the club’s attack. With 13 goals in the competition, he ruled the club’s goal scoring list. Gylfi Sigurðsson led the club’s attack on a number of occasions. He partnered with Richarlison to form a potent attacking duo. Both of these players returned with 13 goals apiece in the Premier League.
In the past few years, the club has showcased a lot of promise. The lads from Goodison Park have been giving a tough time to some of the bigger teams in the competition. The club won 15 games and drew 9 in the 2018-19 season of the Premier League. In all fairness, as many as 14 defeats hurt the club’s chances of ensuring a top five finish. One can say that Everton FC had their moments but couldn’t quite capitalise on several key moments during the course of the tournament.
A major problem ailing the club is the lack of consistency. When Marco Silva joined the club, Everton won five of the first seven games under him. Fans and enthusiasts enjoyed the club’s progress and hailed Silva’s attacking mindset. This happiness, however, was short lived as Everton ended up winning just one win in eight games since then brought things ‘back to normal’.
